Nathan has worked in the hedge fund industry for over 17 years.  He joined HBMJ in 2012, adding significant and comprehensive expertise in Advent Geneva® to the team.  Nathan has most recently completed a conversion of a complex, global multi-fund, multi-strategy Private Equity client to Geneva® 16.2. He has considerable experience working across all standard strategies and product types, managing a wide variety of complex high-volume implementations, conversions, and upgrades for a client base ranging from fund administrators to multi-currency distressed debt hedge funds.

Nathan joined HBMJ following three years at Davidson Kempner Capital Management, a large New York-based distressed debt hedge fund, where he worked in a senior accounting capacity using the Advent Geneva® Portfolio Accounting System with a concentration in bank debt investments.  Nathan’s other responsibilities included strategic project management, QA/UAT testing of Geneva®, and RFP projects focusing on operational and business process improvement.

Nathan joined Davidson Kempner from Och-Ziff Capital Management, a large New York-based multi-strategy hedge fund, where he worked in an accounting and project management capacity using Geneva®.  He was responsible for balance sheet and income statement reconciliations in a successful conversion from the VPM® portfolio accounting system to Geneva®.  Nathan spent a significant portion of his tenure managing work streams related to Geneva® integration, particularly around a proprietary user interface application for Geneva® as well as automated reconciliation, reporting and portfolio finance applications.  In addition to portfolio accounting and financial reporting responsibilities, Nathan supervised Sarbanes-Oxley Act compliance testing and assisted internal audit with control procedure development.

Prior to Och-Ziff, Nathan began his fund accounting career at GlobeOp Financial Services, LLC. in New York.  At GlobeOp, he was head of a team managing hedge fund administration of over 30 hedge funds on Geneva® as well as played a key role in the implementation and the conversion of clients onto the Geneva® platform.

Nathan holds a BS in Finance and a BA in Economics from State University of New York at Oswego.
